WHY IT MATTERS

The world is getting progressively harder to comprehend, find one’s place in, and navigate with a peaceful mind, sense of groundedness and calmness. Our children and younger adults are, perhaps, some of the most vulnerable categories and the ones who suffer most from this complexity, saturation with all the wrong things, and the lack of true connection.

More and more children and younger adults are being labelled and diagnosed with all kinds of mental and emotional imbalances but not much seems to be done to create an environment that cultivates the opposite.

If you have been practicing for a while, you are likely reaping the benefits of this vast tradition of mind-body practices that is yoga, and do know from experience that yoga essentially is a practice of knowing and accepting oneself deeply. You would also agree that when practiced regularly, it does help to manage and see oneself and life through a clearer lens.

Most yoga that is offered for younger people is presented in the form of an acrobatic activity and general movement. This is good when the goal is to move the body and have a fun, good time. However, the essence of what yoga is and the countless benefits it offers for a lifetime are being overlooked.

COURSE CONTENT

This course will give an insight into the asana practice by building it from the ground up, just like we do in our normal Beginner Yoga Course. But will also have younger students’ mental health and ability to develop a calmer state of mind and regulate their nervous system as its main focus.

In the course, we will:

  • Build the foundation for asana practice

  • Learn about how and why asana works and is different to other forms of physical activity

  • Look into the importance and benefits of breathing: in asana practice and beyond

  • Learn the tools for regulating the nervous system on and off the mat

  • Gain insight into the origins of yoga and scripture applicable to our day-to-day lives and to developing better sensibility and sense of connection

As we are finalizing the course’s curriculum and the age splits, we would appreciate your help in choosing the best time/dates.

If you have children between 10-16 years old or work with children of that age, understand how their routines are structured or would be interested in signing your child up, please help us by answering a few questions below.
