108 Sun Salutations
Saturday, January 31 — 7:30am (2-2,5hours)
taught by Mick
We begin the year the way we like to at The Yoga Factory: plainly, and with intent.
108 rounds of Sun Salutations. The same sequence, repeated — Just movement, breath, and repetition, done with deep sense of attention.
In yogic tradition, 108 is said to mark a complete cycle — a number that turns up in stories about the body, the breath, and the cosmos. Sun Salutations are repeated 108 times as a way of moving through that cycle in full: effort, fatigue, resistance, clarity. Whether you take the mythology literally or not — repetition strips things back, what’s left is attention, breath, and the work of staying present.
The practice is demanding, but accessible. No experience of having done it before is required. You can pause, skip rounds, or move at your own pace. What matters is committing to the process, however that looks for you.
It’s a clean marker. The excess is behind us. The year is open.
Come meet it through 108 rounds on the mat.
